Do More Mondays - #133 - Sunnybrook Foundation

I've been feeling a lot of doubt.  Yesterday and today I was thinking about which charity I should support and nothing really spoke to me.  There are thousands of good causes attached to reputable organizations but sometimes I just need to find one that feels like it fits my passions.  It can be quite hard.

I had considered asking for help on Twitter and some doubt came over me.  Why bother?  Week after week - for three years now - and it still hasn't caught on.  It is a small dream of mine to see people use #DoMoreMondays.  How important is it that I am doing this project and only a small handful of people take notice?  As much as it's about making a difference I feel invisible and disheartened by how little awareness and impact I have.  What does it matter?

I sat with this notion for a while, barely making an effort to look for a charity.  I reflected on my passions and that helped.  Running.  For various reasons, thousands of people participate in road races but they are more or less just a bib number in a sea of moving bodies.  It doesn't matter who sees you or not, the fact that you're doing something - it could have been absolutely anyone and yet it was you - says a lot.

I am doing something and it might not necessarily be enough - and I am always saying do more - but the fact remains that I am doing something.

This week I'm donating to my own fundraiser Run for the Kids in support of Sunnybrook Foundation.
I challenge anyone to do more.
