Do More Mondays - #1.1 - "charity: water"

Hiya! ^-^  I hope everyone's weekend went well!

As I mentioned on Saturday, for the next fifty-two Mondays I will be donating $10 to a different charity.  It isn't much but it helps create awareness and that is just as important!  I welcome any suggestions for charities you'd like me to donate to, just leave a comment and I'll add it to my list!

To kick off this campaign, I've decided to make a donation to "charity: water"  ~ a non-profit organization that brings safe drinking water to people in developing nations.  Water is essential for all living things and sometimes we take it for granted.  Right now almost a billion people don't have access to clean water ~ that's one in eight of us!  90% of the 42,000 deaths that occur every week from unsafe water and unhygienic living conditions are to children under five years old.  Unsafe water and lack of basic sanitation cause 80% of diseases and kill more people every year than all forms of violence, including war.  Many of these diseases are preventable.

I challenge anyone to do more.  Have a great week! :D
