Do More Mondays - #127 - FPK's Ready, Set, Goal!

Every so often at work we'll purchase something - despite having food privileges - so we can meet our sales target at the end of the day.  We've reached the first tier a handful of times and the second tier only once on a particularly stressful day.  There are small incentives to achieving those goals but it's rarely about that, for me at least, the feeling of success is more satisfying.  When we marginally miss our target on the other hand, it's very disheartening.

In many respects, the crowdfunding project put forth by Future Possibilities for Kids is similar to how I feel.  Currently their 'Ready! Set! Goal!' program runs in 11 schools across the GTA ~ they want that number to reach 15 by next year.  Expanding the program to four more schools will further help involve, inspire and empower kids 9 to 12 years old to develop their own aspirations and dreams for themselves and their communities through leadership training and possibility thinking.

I have experienced firsthand the difference FPK is making and it continues to inspire me to do more.  I try to diversify my contributions each week but my connection with this particular organization is firmly becoming stronger.  Do More Mondays has never been sole about the money, creating awareness is equally as important.  Even though it is a flexible fundraiser, only 26 days remaining to reach their $20,000 target ~ the feeling of success would be tremendously felt not just by the charity but also more than 160 children.

I challenge anyone to do more.
