Do More Mondays - #62 - Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD)

Hiya! I hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday with friends and family that will continue into the New Year. This week is the last 'Do More Mondays' of 2011 and looking down the list of charitable contributions I am incredibly happy. Even though I can't afford to give a lot each week, the number of weeks add up in terms of how many people may have benefitted from any one of these organizations. Most charities can stretch a dollar for twice its value if not more to cover admin costs while remaining faithful to those in need.

The holiday season is often celebrated with the consumption of alcohol but it's crucial to be responsible when put in a completely preventable situation. I've always been very much against drinking and driving ~ please please please don't do it! That is why this week I'm making a donation to "Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD)". I'm sure everyone had heard about this non-profit organization ~ they seeks to stop drunk driving, support those affected by drunk driving, prevent underage drinking, and overall push for stricter alcohol policy. They accomplish their mission through education to all ages, advocating stricter policies (such as the legal blood alcohol limits or length of jail sentences), and assistances to the victims of both innocent and guilty impaired drivers and their families.

Do not drink and drive ~ it's irresponsible and completely preventable.

I challenge anyone to do more.
