Do More Mondays - #113 - St. Joseph's Healthcare Foundation

In my efforts to fundraise for my run in May, it is equally important to show support for fellow runners and their causes.  Together we can inspire one another to do more.

That is why this week I'm making a donation to Trevor Druiett's Around the Bay Road Race in support of St. Joseph's Healthcare Foundation.  I don't believe we've ever met - or perhaps only in passing of the most distant kind.  Regardless, we have friends in common and his tweets about trail running is very cool!

St. Joseph’s Healthcare Foundation has been around since the 1970s ~ serving Hamilton with a multi-campus teaching hospital, to provide the best in compassionate patient care and innovative medical research.  Accredited by Imagine Canada, their long-standing commitment to being a donor-centred, responsible and accountable fundraising organization can be viewed in their spendings.

As an organization, all decisions are based on the following values:

  • honouring the commitment of donors and volunteers to the Foundation
  • recognizing our accountability to donors for all gifts received
  • providing for employees an atmosphere for personal and professional fulfillment
  • seeking out collaborative partnerships to enhance our mission
  • acting with wisdom and prudence as good stewards of our resources
  • emphasizing truthfulness and transparency in all our activities

(The tax receipt is dated last Monday because that was when I intended until I noticed it was MLK day)
I challenge anyone to do more.
