Do More Mondays - #115 - Canadian Fallen Firefighters Foundation

I have a lot of respect for people who volunteer with emergency service providers; two friends in particular are incredibly inspiring whom aid their local fire department.  Thank you.  I don't say that enough for the generosity people in this world have.  I try to build awareness for issues but thanking those who make a difference is just as important.

This week I am making a donation to the Canadian Fallen Firefighters Foundation ~ their primary goal is to conduct the Canadian Firefighters Annual Memorial Ceremony in Ottawa on the 2nd Sunday of September.  They maintain the list of fallen firefighters and annually engrave the names of those added to the memorial.  The Memorial Weekend has become an important part of healing for many families that have suffered the loss a loved one.  Families of the fallen receive a transportation and accommodation subsidy.

The Foundation has also developed an endowment fund to provide scholarships and bursaries to the children of Canadian firefighters with special emphasis on those who are the children of a firefighter whose line of duty death has been recognized by the Foundation.
I remember while working as a condominium concierge false fire alarms during the grave shift would always keep me on my toes.  The trucks would always come in threes and they'd respond in less time it takes to microwave a meal.

Thank you.
I challenge anyone to do more.
