Do More Mondays - #6 - "Prostate Cancer Canada"

Hiya!  It's that day of the week again ~ time to make Mondays better for everyone by doing more! :D

This week I'm making a donation to "Prostate Cancer Canada" ~ a foundation that works with professionals and organizations to advance the prostate cancer cause since 1994.  Their mission is to help raise funds for the development of programs related to awareness, public education, advocacy, support of those affected, and research into the prevention, detection, treatment and cure of prostate cancer.

It's become pretty mainstream knowledge that November is 'Movember' ~ grow out a stach this month to help raise awareness and funds for men's health issues.  I wish I could join the handful of friends I know participating in this, but I look fugly with my patch of peach fuzz.  So here's to them for being awesome!

1 in 6 men will be diagnosed with the disease, and this is expected to rise to 1 in 4 within a decade
Turning up in men in their 40s
- Develops as a result of dietary, environmental and heredity factors (more research is needed to identify its causes and prevent the disease)

- Treated by surgery, radiation and hormone therapy (among other treatments)
(More information can be found here)

I challenge anyone to do more.
