Hiya! Another week another donation! I'm feeling really good about my progress so far and it's made me think more optimistically knowing that every little bit helps even though one person can't save everybody. On a day-to-day I sometimes hear or see situations that make me think how can I contribute to the betterment of it. I know not everyone has the same capacity to give, but I believe that spreading the awareness of these situations is just as important. The more you know and the more you think about it, the less it becomes something you want others to have to deal with.
This week I'm making a donation to "Centre for Addiction and Mental Health" ~ a consortium of public health clinics in Toronto and one of the world's leading research centres in the area of addiction and mental health. CAMH provides comprehensive, well-coordinated, accessible care for people who have problems with mental illness or addiction. A wide range of clinical programs, support and rehabilitation services are provided that meet the diverse needs of people who are at risk and are at different stages of their lives and illnesses. They also work with the government to help shape the public policy and resource development process to ensure it promotes health and works towards eliminating the stigma associated with mental illness and addiction. Additionally, they address larger issues that arise from four major factors affecting health - housing, employment, social support and income support.
I challenge anyone to do more.
