This weeks I'm making a donation - thanks to the suggestion from a friend - to 'Art City in St. James Town' ~ a non-profit organization committed to promoting after school art programs to children of elementary school age. St. James Town is a neighbourhood in downtown Toronto consisting of 17,000 people living in 19 apartment buildings. It is Canada's most densely populated community and one of Toronto's lowest average income areas due to cultural and minority demographics. Art City provides free, accessible art programs intended to foster creative thinking and nurture self-esteem and personal accomplishment. Since the fall of 2008 they've created a studio within a storefront space welcoming a safe non-discriminatory environment, dedicated to giving opportunities for young people
I challenge anyone to do more.
