Do More Mondays - #52 - Global Soap Project

In many ways I still harbour the same feelings as last week. I use to give and feel good about it but now whenever I give I just feel unmoved. I want others to be a part of something vastly bigger than any one person can accomplish ~ I want to make the world a better place. There is always a point to giving back but it's hard to see through it when it no longer inspires and most people don't give so much as a reaction.

I'm proud of myself for keeping with my fifty-two week commitment and I'm going to continue making weekly donations. I can be angry at myself for being unable to build much support but as much as it sucks, someone out there has it far worse than I do. This is why I do more.

====================================

I've been making a conscious effort to find someplace where I can volunteer for a few hours a week but it's been surprisingly difficult. Many of the places I've looked at don't have flexible hours and the ones they need volunteers for are usually when I'm at work. I'm going to continue with my search but in the mean time this weeks charity has some potential for me to get involved ~ "Global Soap Project".

What do you think hotels do with the little bars of soap after your stay? Rather then have it discarded, Global Soap Project recovers them, reprocesses them into new bars and distributes them to those in need. In a world so concern with going green I think this is absolutely genius.

I challenge anyone to do more.
