Do More Mondays - #51 - KidsAbility Foundation

Last year I made a commitment to myself; that for the next fifty-two weeks I would do more for those who have it far worse than me. This is the second last week of my progress. I don't want it to end while at the same time I'm unhappy with how unnoticed it's been. I'm trying to do good and I know that the task is vastly bigger than me, but when most people don't give so much as a reaction than I feel that the cause has lost a lot of meaning. I don't feel like I've accomplished anything except for a monetary one and that is little compared to the value of awareness.

There are people who've shown their support and helped carry me through this - I thank you all. Please continue to help keep my hopes alive.

I challenge anyone to do more.

====================================

This week I'm making a donation to"KidsAbility Foundation" ~ a dynamic, multi-faceted organization that serves children with a wide range of special needs. They offer services such as assessment, individual therapy, group therapy, parent education, home programming, consultation, and community training. KidsAbility assists children with developmental disabilities and delays related to premature birth, medical syndromes such as Down syndrome, coordination disorders, and autism; physical disabilities such as muscular dystrophy, spina bifida and cerebral palsy; and communication difficulties in language, articulation, fluency and voice.

KidsAbility empowers children and youth with special needs to realize their full potential by focusing on: the uniqueness of each child and youth, an inclusive and empowering relationship with families and the wisdom they provide, and a culture of professionalism, knowledge, innovation and accountability and a practice of resilient determination in all that they do. There are several inspiring stories of young children overcoming obstacles you and I couldn't imagine going through - I encourage anyone to watch some of the videos.

I challenge anyone to do more.
