On Saturday, my friend Thadius hosted his biannual BBQ fundraiser. I'm a little embarrassed that this week's "Do More Mondays" is tacking from what I donated on the weekend ~ last year I gave to two charities. In all honesty, I'm just spent these day; financially, physically and mentally. It's a very temporary issue I assure you ^^;;
I donated $30 towards "Rankin Cancer Run" ~ a charity primarily sponsored by Rankin Construction Inc. that raises funds for local cancer support organizations and the creation of new facilities in the Niagara region. Currently a new hospital and cancer centre is under construction on Fourth Ave. in St. Catharines! I think it's incredibly inspiring for a company to make such a worthy long-term commitment where permanent structures are built to better serve a community of people.
It's easy to find the 'fun' in fundraising even though we sadly sometimes forget why we've all come together to begin with. I had an enjoyable time meeting old friends and making new ones, feasting on delicious food, and making people smile :)
I challenge anyone to do more.
