Do More Mondays - #59 - Harmony Movement

"Kids these days..." It's a loaded phrase we sometimes say that can connotate something positive or negative. More often than not I finish off the phrase thinking "...can be really incredible!"

Take for example local teenager Bilaal Rajan; he is fifteen years old, a children’s and environmental activist, a globally recognized motivational speaker, best-selling author, tireless fundraiser, and UNICEF Canada Ambassador. He has raised millions of dollars for programs that help children in need, and has spoken to thousands of people in two dozens countries on six continents. Bilaal founded Making Change Now to heighten awareness of youth issues and help kids in need all over the world. This is a talk he delivered recently at TEDxToronto...

Kids these days can be really incredible and there is a wealth of resources for them to become the leaders of tomorrow. That is why this week I'm making a donation to "Harmony Movement" ~ they educate youth to be leaders for social change. They have done this by pioneering the use of multimedia resources to supplement curriculum materials to assist educators in promoting diversity and dealing with cross-cultural issues in their classrooms. Working closely with educators, Harmony Movement has developed the bilingual multimedia 'Exploring Harmony' educational resource kit, which has been adopted by schools, universities and colleges across Canada. One look at their website and you'll find dozens of different programs, workshops, conferences, awards, scholarships, and events that they provide and support. Be the change.

I challenge anyone to do more.
