Do More Mondays - #124 - Future Possibilities for Kids

I have thought about volunteering numerous times throughout the years and I've written about wanting to do it every so often, but quite frankly talk is cheap.  From what I've looked into, hours of availability and number of hours committed have always discouraged me.  How weak was I?  If I really wanted to do something badly enough I would do it.

That is why I've been looking into organizations I believe in and want to be a part of.  Future Possibilities for Kids is one such program ~ they work to involve, inspire and empower kids 9 to 12 years old to develop their own aspirations and dreams for themselves and their communities through leadership training and possibility thinking.  Possibility Thinking ~ the belief that anything is possible.  I love this philosophy.  I am an optimistic person and I believe I have a lot to give.
Besides the donation, I am eager to apply to become a KidCoach for this fall.  The "Ready, Set, Goal!" program matches trained volunteers to kids within under-served and/or disadvantaged geographic or social communities.  They provide one-on-one support through weekly phone calls and during Activity Days.  Kids create a Goal of Contribution and are coached through the process of delivering it, usually involving friends and families.

I challenge anyone to do more.
