Toronto Yonge Street 10K

Another run under my belt (and a shiny medal around my neck) this season!  The Toronto Yonge Street 10K supports a number of great charities ~ everyone wins!

The run is easily one of the fastest for scoring your personal best since it's mostly downhill; my time came to 47min 51sec!  I usually only average a pace five-something per kilometre!  I learned from my previous run that you lose time maneuvering around other runners, so I started at the front of my corral.  By the end of the race I was two groups ahead of my corral.  Live and learn!

It rained the night before so the streets were cleaner, air fresher and sky clearer for some frequent sunshine ~ very ideal conditions.  A little bit on the bummer side was the low audience turn out for support, but in fairness I had the best experience during Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon so it's hard to compare.

The Sporting Life 10K in support of Camp Oochigeas in May follows the same route as this, so hopefully I'll be able to set a new personal best!  I am currently still fundraising for that run as well as another - the RBC Run for the Kids - happening in September.  I ran the inaugural event last year and had a blast ~ I'm raising the bar this year!

Any help is appreciated!
