I enjoy travelling for a number of reasons but one of the biggest is learning new stuff, things about people, as well as myself. A majority of the places I've been to has been independent, with occasional visits to friends who can accommodate or take me around. When I am alone I feel like I know myself better.
Sharing travel moments with a friend is a special experience; there is a greater bonding between two people. There is someone to talk to, someone to share a room and cab fare with, and even enjoy meals together so not to feel like the entire restaurant is staring at you.

There are also compromises. Whether it is doing what I want without asking, engaging with strangers but not feeling left out, challenging myself without pressure or finding that quiet time digest experiences. I feel like comfortable silence makes up a large part of how I get by and I'm confident I can share the quietude with only a few.
I like what I've been through and I'd do it again in a heartbeat.
