Do More Mondays - #157 - Heart & Stroke Foundation

Today a friend of mine rushed to the hospital because her father's heart had stopped temporarily.  It made me think about frailty and uncertainty despite a healthy lifestyle.

In my own experience I was born with a type of heart malformation - ventricular septal defect.  It hasn't prevented me from doing anything I enjoy (exercise and eating) but it does create an increased risk of infection of the heart walls and valves.  I take antibiotics before surgical procedures.

Last October I took a CPR/AED course - after many years of putting it off - because it felt like an essential skill everyone should have.  Even though the certification has expired I still feel confident about responding to emergency.  It's commonsensical to look out for one another.
I challenge anyone to do more.
